I got back late last night from my 1 day buying trip. Put in about 700 miles round trip, but got some great brats at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI! Anyway, the first stop was pretty good as I bought some high grade 38 Goudey Heads-Up cards, a high grade near set of 1954 Bowman (with a PSA 8 Mantle and Williams!), a Jordan RC PSA 10, and a Ryan collection that had 1968 through 1974 PSA 9's! We then drove to offer on another collection. The stuff was mainly sets from 1974 to present, along with a bunch of 1954 through 1970 HOF'ers. However, we were very far apart as to what he was asking and what I wanted to offer. I then headed home and got a phone call as I was pulling into my driveway. The friend of the guy who had the collection told him he would have taken a price for what I wanted to offer! Sometimes, I wonder why people have a pie-in-the-sky number, only to actually want less than half of that. Since the customer wanted such a high number when I was there, I didn't want to upset him with my offer, so I politely told him that we weren't close enough. Now I come to find out that we were actually at the same figures! Oh well, looks like I will have to drive back and now make the deal.
Also, the special 10% discount and free shipping will now be extended to Tuesday at 9:00. We have sold so much stuff over the past 3 days with the special that we will give it another day. Experts (who they are, I will never know) say tomorrow is the busiest on-line shopping day of the year. Therefore, I am extending the sale to Tuesday at 9:00 AM.
